10 Reasons We’re Grateful For Our Kids

Liz Sarb feat. June Hennessy

LOL just kidding. We did this for the SEO.

The truth is: there is no “Top Ten” listicle that can capture why so many parents consider their children their deepest source of joy. There’s no explaining why someone would choose to have a second, third, fourth child after going through the horror-show once.

The truth is: it’s like our hearts and souls were dragged from us and painted into being. And while it’s surprising to learn that our hearts and souls are WOW! Super effing needy and annoying, it’s also surprising to feel such deep, intense gratitude. Sometimes it feels more like pain—when the baby struggles to breathe through RSV or the courts waiver on whether to finalize an adoption and we realize just how tenuous and out of our hands this gift is. Sometimes it feels like pure joy—when we spot them playing together in the sunshine and we ache with love.

The truth is: we are so grateful.
